A Flexible Remote Instruction Day (FRID) is an at-home learning option that may be used when circumstances prevent the District from providing instruction in the traditional in-person setting. Examples may include inclement weather, unsafe road conditions, a building-related issue, or other circumstances that prevent students from attending school in person.
Parents/Guardians and students will be notified of a FRID via Skyward (email), automated call and our district website. Students will access instructional links and materials needed on their teachers’ Google Classroom pages.
DEW Middle School Expectations:
• Students will participate in all classes virtually from home. Please note that homeroom attendance and class period attendance will be taken.
• Students will follow the FRID academic schedule that will be shared in advance of the Flexible Instruction Day. This document is also provided in the Student / Parent Handbook.
• Students will access each of their classes via a Google Meet. The links to Google Meets will be posted on each Teacher’s Google Classroom Page.
• In the event of a power and/or internet outage on a FRID, students are to use their paper packets to access learning materials. These packets should be kept at home so they are accessible if needed. Students must submit completed work upon their return to school.
