Montour Curriculum

The mission of the Curriculum & Instruction department of the Montour School District is to ensure implementation of research-based curriculum and instructional strategies in order to deliver relevant, rigorous, and engaging learning experiences for all students.

The Montour School Districts understands today's students need to be prepared for a world that is constantly evolving and changing. Students must learn the essential skills for success in today's world such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration.

Research proves students that are engaged in real world applications simply learn better. Our goal is to create dynamic, engaging, student-centered classrooms that integrate technology and higher order thinking skills to embrace this fact.

The Montour School District is currently reviewing various facets of the K-12 curriculum, this includes a curriculum mapping process utilizing the (UBD) Understanding by Design philosophy. Information will be posted as mapping teams complete courses of study and curricular map. Please see the 2014-2015 Professional Growth Plan for scheduled curricular revisions.
